Jordan participates in 29th Arab-German Economic Forum in Berlin

Amman, June 20 (Petra) – A delegation from Jordan and Amman Chambers of Commerce took part in the 29th Arab-German Business Forum, held in Berlin, Germany, under the theme: "Beyond Transformation: Intelligence, Innovation, and Impact." According to a joint statement issued by the two chambers on Saturday, Nabil Khatib, a member of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce's board of directors and First Vice Chairman of Amman Chamber of Commerce, said the participation aims to broaden horizons of economic, trade, and investment cooperation between Jordan and Germany.

Khatib added that the presence also seeks to enhance communication with the German business community and explore partnership and investment opportunities in priority sectors.

Khatib, who headed the delegation, noted the forum constitutes an "important" platform for launching economic dialogue, exchanging expertise, and building partnerships.

He said this significance is particularly due to the event's focus on artificial intelligence, innovation, digital transformation, sustainability, energy, infrastructure, logistics, and modern technology, which are sectors that receive increasing attention within the Kingdom's Economic Modernization Vision.

He added that the Jordanian delegation held a series of meetings with heads and representatives of participating Arab delegations, companies, and German and Arab economic institutions.

During these discussions, he noted the delegation reviewed the Kingdom's available investment opportunities, priviliges offered by the Investment Environment Law, and ways to explore possibilities of establishing partnerships and joint projects that serve mutual economic interests.

During 2025, Khatib announced the volume of Jordan-Germany trade exchange continued to grow, as Jordanian exports to the German market increased by 92.4%, reaching about JD59 million, compared to JD718 million in imports.

He noted Jordan has "promising" opportunities to boost its exports to the German market, mainly in the clothing, pharmaceutical, food industries and modern technologies sectors.

Additionally, he called for intensifying communication between the two countries' private sector institutions to take advantage of available opportunities and develop economic and investment cooperation during the next stage.
